Sen. Rand Paul goes off on irresponsible Democrats, calls governors dictators, and even dives into destroying the Department of Education, which is one of the most pointless facets of government there is.
Rand Paul says during the interview that money should be conserved, not handed out for free, and that many people in government have big hearts, but small brains. This sounds false to me, because I personally believe that many people in government have no hearts and no brains. For example, the relief bill that government is arguing over, paired with the items in the omnibus, appear to be sending so much money overseas for unrelated items and it’s clear that government is just throwing things into the relief bill as negotiation tactics, trying to get random stuff approved, even if it has nothing to do with our current situation here in America.
When Rand Paul mentions the Department of Education being dismantled, he’s 100% correct on that. The Department of Education is not needed in any way, shape, or form. Betsy Devos was one of the most useless people that Trump elected to a position that is completely useless to education. The states and cities can run their own education based on their own needs. They don’t need government involved in what they do. The people in government have no clue about anything on a local level and their blanket nonsense has been nothing but a failure. All the money wasted on the Department of Education could be sent to school districts who are in need of more teachers. It won’t be much, but it certainly would be a help.

When Rand Paul throws the dictator governors in the loony bin, he’s right about them too. We do need safety guidelines and restrictions, but we also need consistency and the economy open. The governors aren’t willing to come up with a creative solution so that we can be both open and safe. Why can I stand in line at a grocery store with 25 people next to me, but I can’t go eat at a restaurant at half capacity or less? Some things make no sense.
As stated on The Epoch Times:
In an early morning Christmas day interview, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said that governors should never have been allowed to accumulate so much power that they can lock down the economy. “You know, nobody ever intended that governors would be sort of czars or dictators in charge of the economy,” Paul said. Adding, “In my State, you can’t have indoor dining, you can’t have outdoor dining and your kids are not in school. We’re worse than New York City right now in Kentucky, our governor has shut the schools down, even though all of the science shows that and all of the evidence that you really aren’t having a surge when you have the schools open.” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has had pandemic restrictions in place, some of which include a mask mandate, limiting private gathering sizes to small groups, minimal capacity for indoor small businesses like gyms…
