Supreme Court rejects Texas’ effort to overturn election for Trump

Donald Trump Texas rejected

Bad news for President Donald Trump and his supporters as the United States Supreme Court basically rejected the lawsuit filed by Texas in hopes to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory in favor of Trump in at least four key battleground states.

At least 126 of the 196 Republicans in the House wanted the Supreme Court to take this case, but the justices have denied it, according to the breaking news report on NBC News.

The Supreme Court was quoted as saying that “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections.”

Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito said the court had no authority to refuse a case filed on its original docket, where one state files to sue another. But they said the would not have granted Texas any other relief and expressed no view on any of the issues raised in the lawsuit. So the ruling was essentially a unanimous rejection of the Texas claims.

This was possibly Trump’s best shot at stalling or turning over the election in his favor, but it was rejected fairly quickly.

Pro-Trump attorneys Lin Wood and Sidney Powell have also come up completely empty, unable to provide any substantial evidence that would sway a judge in their favor. Evidence that is proven beyond a reasonable doubt would be needed, but it appears that both attorneys, in any of their efforts, had questionable videos at best – videos in which one cannot see or prove, without reasonable doubt, what exactly is going on in said video.

Despite having witness affidavits, those are also not taken as seriously as many might think, as they’re nothing more than a he said/she said and can’t be proven one way or another. Just because someone says something on record, that does not make it true and they still need to provide solid proof that what they are saying is true. It appears that none of the people who made sworn statements were able to provide enough evidence worth using – they only had their “story” and it was theirs vs anyone else.

Texas has somewhat made history because no state has ever asked the Supreme Court to nullify election results from OTHER states. Texas wanted to delay or prevent electors in Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania who gets 20 electoral votes on their own.

Texas tried to say that those states were in violation of their own voting procedure laws.

Unfortunately for President Trump and his voter-base, this might be the last effort we see, as it’s not clear what else they can possibly do next to prevent Joe Biden from being inaugurated on January 20th.

This could be it for the Trump administration, but stay tuned to President Trump’s Twitter and any official White House statements in the next few days.
