President Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor, Robert O’Brien, has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19. However, the White House has stated that his condition is not a current threat to either the president or VP Mike Pence, per a report on Bloomberg.
The report stated that “O’Brien, 54, the closest person to the president known to have contracted the disease, has been out of the office since late last week, according to a person familiar with the matter.
O’Brien caught the virus while taking a few days off from work, spending time with his family, according to people familiar with the matter. His daughter, who is college age, became ill first, White House economic director Larry Kudlow told reporters.”
He apparently has only mild symptoms. He is working at an off site location and is said to be in self-quarantine.
Bloomberg’s report stated that O’Brien had tested negative first, but then later tested positive.
It appears they are taking precautions as needed and he hasn’t been near the president since before his own vacation.
He took some time off from work to be with family and that’s around the time he appears to have caught the virus. His daughter, who’s of college age, had gotten sick first.
